As collegiate players at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), Ramon and Damon formed the second most prolific twin brother-scoring duo in NCAA Division 1 history. Both finished their careers as the Keydets third (3) and fourth (4) all-time leading scorers only to be separated by 8 points with 1,630 and 1,622 points, respectively. They earned All-Southern Conference honors, Honorable Mention All-Americans and other awards and honors as players of the week and all-tournament teams. Both brothers were inducted into the VMI Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
At age 20, the duo’s contribution and influence on young people was recognized by the late mayor Noel C. Taylor and the City of Roanoke as positive role models in the Roanoke Community; they were presented with the coveted “Key to the City.”
